Stylized portrait.  The main idea of this painting is the transience of time. That is why the girl is depicted in the princess crown, although children in ancient Egypt most often shaved off their hair or left a “sidelock of youth” (a symbol of underage). The sidelock of youth in the picture is depicted on the left side, which means the fast growing up of children. On the right side, from top to bottom, you can see a spiral in the shape of DNA. This symbolizes the connection of modern Egyptians with the ancient Egyptians. Also in the picture there are lotus flowers. In ancient Egypt, the lotus symbolized birth, the source of life, creation, prosperity and fertility.
